It is no lie that there are countless opportunities for individuals to make extra money through online side hustles. Whether you're looking to save up for your monthly needs or just earn some extra cash, there are a variety of side hustles that you can pursue in 2023. We tried some of the most popular apps that promise their users a easy way to earn an extra income.

Here are some of the best online side hustles for the year ahead:

1. Virtual Assistant:

Virtual assistants provide administrative support to businesses and entrepreneurs remotely. This can include tasks such as: answering emails, scheduling appointments, customer service. As a virtual assistant, you can work from anywhere in the world, and schedule your time-plan at your convenience.

Appen: Appen specializes in providing human-annotated data for machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) projects. The company's workers, who are often referred to as "crowd workers," can work from anywhere in the world and on a schedule that suits their needs.

Our experience: We successfully applied to join Appen and managed to complete a task.

Everything they claim actually WORKS. The amount of pay differs based on the tasks you undertake. Payments are paid within a few days of the invoice being issued.

Yeah! you heard well...you can only participate in Appen if you have a business account and are able to issue an invoice.

To conclude. Our outlook is positive in case you'd like to make an extra income, have the time to devote and there is another main source of income.

2. Online Store:

If you have a product or service that you'd like to sell, creating an online store can be a great way to generate income. You can sell products through marketplaces like Etsy, Amazon and Podia. Note that you'll need a business account to join.

3. Content Moderation:

Toloka: Toloka is an online crowdsourcing platform owned by Yandex, a Russian multinational technology company.

Toloka provides a range of services to its clients, including data labeling, content moderation, surveys, and machine learning training data. The platform's micro-workers are able to work on a variety of tasks, from simple data entry to more complex tasks requiring analytical and problem-solving skills.

Our experience: There are small tasks on a daily basis for which participants are instructed.

Completing these, often requires time-consuming detailed comparison of product/webpages descriptions.

Users' abilities are evaluated after each task is completed and they are accordingly allowed to participate in corresponding tasks.

This actually works!

We managed to transfer money via PayPal, but we consider the reward disproportionate to the effort.

4. Online Surveys:

There are a variety of survey sites that pay for your opinions and feedback. We've tested ysense, TGM Panel, OpinionAPP, Premise and Prolific.

Our experience: The truth is that if you're looking for a decent extra income, it's probably not the best option.

Very often the user is asked to answer a series of questions only to end up being rejected from surveys.

Also, It takes a lot of effort for someone to accumulate the amount of 5 euros per month. The only one of the above applications that seems to pay better is Prolific. Prolific's withdrawal limit is $700. We will examine the withdrawal process once we reach this limit.

5. Website and Apps testing:

With the rise of remote work opportunities, website and app testing has become a popular way for individuals to earn money from the comfort of their own homes. In this context, testing websites and apps has become an attractive option for individuals looking to make money online.

Our experience: We gave a try and tested these platforms--> UserFeel, Testbirds, TryMyUi. We have to pass a test before being accepted to the testers community including the completion of some tasks while browsing a website and explaining our experience.

Each task can pay the tester up to 30 euros. What disappointed us is that we still haven't been offered to participate in any task, with the result that our total profit is zero.

6. Sharing Internet connection

This practice, known as "Internet Sharing," allows individuals to monetize their unused or excess internet data, providing a new source of income. Sharing your internet connection can be a great option for those looking to earn money without having to actively invest time or effort, making it an attractive opportunity for many.

Our experience: This is a way to make a passive income indeed. You just have to download an app on your phone and give access to your internet connection. We used three applications--> Honeygain, Pawns.app and Traffmonetizer.

They work, but are you willing to wait 6 months to make a 20$? It's up to you!

Whether you're testing websites and apps, sharing your internet connection, or exploring other online avenues, the potential for earning additional income has never been more accessible, but is it really worth your time?

Let us know if you have a different experience.
